2010 ReportServer Pricing information:

ReportServer is an optional add-on feature for Elementary Reports. For a small annual fee it allows schools access to our server and enables them to save and load both settings and report files across the Internet. The feature is not necessary to use Elementary Reports and should be regarded as a 'deluxe enhancement' to the system - basically it just makes life easier!

Current subscription price is £100 exc. VAT per year.

This allows the Admin account user to upload settings and download reports and allows any of the school's teacher account users to download the settings and upload or download their own report file.

IMPORTANT: Some schools, due to their security settings may not have access to ReportServer. Please check your school can use ReportServer BEFORE subscribing to the service as NO refunds will be issued.

You can test for compatibility with ReportServer from within Elementary Report's help menu.

Can't access ReportServer from your school?

If you can't access ReportServer using the default settings, you can change options relating to ReportServer within Elementary Reports. These may allow our system to negotiate with yours to allow access:

In the 'Miscellaneous' section of 'options', change 'Alt Comms' and/or 'Passive mode' options - one of the combinations may work.

Information for your Network Administrator:

ReportServer acts as a standard FTP server located at domain 'fileserver.elementaryreports.com', you should add this domain to your firewall 'WhiteList' if you have one.

The FTP server uses Port 21 to communicate - it then will switch to 'passive mode' if possible, you should enable FTP in any Proxy server settings you have. The 'passive mode' uses any port between 12000 and 12500 (outgoing from your side), we can accept up to 500 simultaneous connections.

If your network gateway has any 'protocol filters', please disable filtering out of the the FTP protocol - in otherwords let FTP through.

If port 21 is a problem, we have a mirror of port 21 on port 29. You can set Elementary Reports to use a different port by setting 'AltFTPport' in the Advanced Options.
