Main toolbar

The main toolbar consists of up to 20 different icons.

A downwards facing arrow on the middle right of an icon means that you can click the icon for normal operation, or you can click the arrow and a drop down menu will appear. |

A downwards facing arrow on the high right of an icon means that by clicking the icon a drop down menu will appear. |
|
| 1. | Students: |
|
Clicking the students icon will show the student list. Generally you would use this to choose a particular student, but you can perform other functions too. You can click the arrow to the right of the icon for direct access to more advanced functions. See the section on the Student list for more information. |
| 2. | Previous: |
|
Clicking the previous icon will display the previous student in the student list. If it reaches the top of the list then it will display the last student in the list and so on. |
| 3. | Next: |
|
Clicking the next icon will display the next student in the student list. If it reaches the bottom of the list then it will display the top student in the list and so on. |
| 4. | Group: |
|
Click the group icon to enter the GroupWriter. This is a special edit mode that allows you to enter text into multiple students at the same time. For more information see the GroupWriter section. |
| 5. | View: |
|
Click the view icon to change the view. You can click on the arrow to the right of the icon to directly select a particular view. For more information see the Views section. |
| 6. | Spellcheck: |
|
Click the spellcheck icon to start the spellchecker. You can click the arrow to the right of the icon to open the spellchecker window. For more information see the Spellchecker section. |
| 7. | Attendance: |
|
Click the attendance icon to enter the attendance editor. This editor is similar to a spreadsheet and allows you to enter or edit student attendance data. For more information see the Attendance editor section. |
| 8. | Results: |
|
Click the results icon to enter the results editor. This editor is similar to a spreadsheet and allows you to enter or edit student results. For more information see the Results editor section. |
| 9. | Save: |
|
Click the save icon to save your reports. You can click the arrow to the right of the icon for more advanced save options. For more information see the Saving reports section. |
| 10. | Print: (If PDF print engine turned on then this icon will be a PDF icon) |
|
Click the print icon to display a list of print options. If you have changed the print engine to PDF then the icon will be a PDF icon and some of the print options will be disabled. |
| 11. | About: |
|
Click the about icon to display a window about ReportComplete, some information about Computing Data Limited and some copyright notices. |
| 12. | Wizards: |
|
Click the wizards icon to display a list of program wizards. Wizards allow you to perform usually quite complex tasks more easily. |
| 13. | Options: |
|
Click the options icon to display the Options window. There are lots of program options and settings. For more information please see the Options section. |
| 14. | Admin: (Only visible if the user is an Administrator) |
|
Click the admin icon to display the Administration window. This is only accessible to the user who is the licence administrator. For more information see the Administration section. |
| 15. | Validate/Validated: |
|
If the icon is 'Validate' (red) then click it to enter your licence, username and password information. See the Entering your licence code section for more information.
If the icon is 'Validated' (green) then click it to display you current licence and username information.
If the icon is 'Validated' (green and red) then this means you are validated but ReportComplete cannot access the Internet. |
| 16. | Update: (Only visible if there is an update available) |

If you see the update icon then a program update is available. If you click the icon then it will start the update procedure. If update fails then you can download the Install program from our website and run it - this does exactly the same as the update procedure. If the icon is flashing then it means it has been some time since you last updated or there is an update available after a fresh install. See the Updating section for more information. |
| 17. | Messages: (flashes if there is a message waiting) |

The message system allows you to send messages from one teacher to the other. We currently have a fair usage limit of 500 active messages per school licence. If you see the messages icon flashing then there is at least one message waiting for you to read. See the Messages section for more information. |
| 18. | Hide: (Can be turned on in Options, default is turned off) |
|
Click the hide icon to make the program minimise to a small icon near the Windows clock. Click the icon to restore the window. |
| 19. | Help: |
|
Click the help icon to display the built-in help. You can active more help icons by enabling 'Extra help' in the 'User Interface' section of Options. |
| 20. | Quit: |
|
Click the quit icon to exit ReportComplete. This will normally automatically save minor options and prompt you to save any unsaved major options or changes to your work. |
