Assistant

When you first start Elementary Reports you will probably notice a Wizard like character giving you advice.

This is usually a 'Merlin' like character, but it could be a Genie, a Witch or some other character - we generally just call it the Assistant.  The purpose of the Assistant is to give beginners advice on how to use various aspects of the program.  If you get tired or annoyed by the Assistant you can quickly turn it it off by clicking the Assistant icon:

To turn it back on, just click the icon again.  The default when you start Elementary Reports is for the Assistant to be on, but you can change this in Options.

If you don't have the Assistant on your system, or the Assistant doesn't speak, then we have some general hints on how to correct this on our online forum in the 'Troubleshooting' section.
